Who We Are.
Suspend This is a Canadian Record Suspension (Pardon) organization founded on the idea that mistakes shouldn’t define people or prohibit them from succeeding. The pardon program in Canada has been hugely successful and a statistical reflection of a desire to change. Our goal is to affordably help as many people as possible reach their full potential unrestricted by a criminal record.
10 years in the industry has given us the expertise to ensure that your case is handled with care and efficiency; providing you with the best client experience possible. We monitor legislative changes affecting pardon/record suspension eligibility, and guarantee that you are kept informed as your file progresses.
While striving to exceed your expectations and doing everything in our power to get you the outcome you deserve, we do not make false promises. Transparency is important. Applying for a pardon can be daunting, and we aim to make filing with us as stress-free as we can. We value the trust you place in us.
Our business is about rehabilitation. Removing the stigma that a record can carry is priceless. As a company we are responsible for advocating for systemic change to remove that bias at its roots. Our goal is to bring about true transformation of the criminal justice system and pardon program in Canada by focusing on rehabilitative efforts over punitive procedures.
We also have extensive experience with the U.S. border and entry waiver applications. However, due to the ever-changing pandemic-related border restrictions we are not handling any associated paperwork at this time. We can, however, answer your questions; send them our way!

Kate Whitney
Managing Director of Operations / Founder
Kate Whitney has been a leader in the pardon industry for a decade, with the pardon application process being second nature to her as a result. Ms. Whitney is well-versed in eligibility, the intricacies of the ever-changing legislation, and United States travel with a record and once pardoned. She has participated in round-tables with the Liberal Government on Privacy Act and Pardon reform, contributed to Canada’s Global News as an expert in the industry, and believes that foundational changes need to be made to make the pardon program more accessible.
Ms. Whitney takes a personal interest in all files and collaborates with others in the industry to ensure the success of her agency’s applications while cultivating relationships with all those involved. In her professional history she has handled applications for politicians, celebrities, CEOs, international applicants, and athletes. Ms. Whitney believes that compassion is integral to the pardon industry with her belief in the pardon program translating to her work.
Michael Franklin
Head of Growth
Mr. Franklin comes to the Suspend This team from a professional background that includes roles with multi-national corporations such as Xerox and Salesforce. His passion is customer satisfaction, and he aims to embrace client acquisition while fostering those relationships to ensure client success. Mr. Franklin’s role with our agency is diverse, as it encompasses technological management and implementation, company visibility, and community outreach.
